My Longest Day Ever in Paris

The day began with three train rides through the outskirts of Paris. Destination: St. Cloud park. Why did we take three trains? Partially because there was no direct route from my flat, and partially because we went one stop too far. Silly us!

Once we found the correct station, we crossed the tracks and stumbled upon a farm of sorts. We said hello to the cow, a goat, a sheep, a pony, a donkey, and a horse.

After having a lengthy conversation with the black sheep, we continued on the path.

After walking for about ten minutes, we turned on some music. And after singing along to said music, our walking turned into skipping.

We also ran down a hill.

We stumbled upon the old, and slightly forgotten-looking gardens of St. Cloud Chateau, which I didn't even know existed at that point. The changing fall leaves were gorgeous, and we enjoyed climbing about on walls.

Finding a nice spot to rest, realizing how hungry we had become after all the train-taking and skipping, and then taking the wine out of our bags, we quickly realized we had committed a rookie mistake: we forgot to bring a corkscrew. We're obviously not pros at French picnicking quite yet. Daniela had the genius idea of shoving the cork down into the bottle. The only problem with this method, is that you have no choice but to drink the entire bottle - which we did.

We feasted on bread, two types of cheese, Tomme Noir and Chevre, some bacon fumé and saucisson sec, some clementines, and some Bordeaux.

After that, we pet a cat.

We then rested for a bit, freshened up, and decided to head to Trocadero to take some Eiffel Tower pics.

After almost having our bags stolen from us at the Eiffel Tower (group of men slowly approaching us, preparing to grab our bags and run), we still had time to kill, so we went to the Arc of Triumph and walked to Sephora on Champs Elysées. The lights were pretty neat, and I was able to touch up my makeup in Sephora.

We then met up with some guy friends at a pub called Violon Dingue. They have an underground room that had such a great ambiance. Any place that requires me to descend a spiral staircase, then a creepy stone tunnel, gets an A+ in my book. We had many drinks, enjoyed good company, and that's the end of our extremely long day.

This guy was a bit too inebriated! As you may be able to tell from my face.
