Friends

First of all, I want to go on record to say: I love my friends so much. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and I certainly appreciate my best friends so much more than I ever have.

Those friends that you've had for years, that know you so well, to whom you never have to explain yourself, because they just understand you. The ones you can sit around and do absolutely nothing with, and still have a good time.

Appreciate those friends, because they are hard to come by!

I can't wait to have girls' nights with them when I'm back! I heard rumors that some of them are even planning a Vegas trip this spring break. ;)

Second of all, being here in Paris and being forced to meet new people and make new friends has made me realize that I'm not as introverted as I thought I was. Before now I've never had the need to make new friends, and because I've had my best friends for so long, I perceived this "making new friends" thing as big, difficult, awkward, and nearly impossible, mostly because I had difficulty being myself around new people, or knowing how to act in general.

With that said, I'm happy to say that I've made some great friends already here in Paris, and I'm proud of myself. It may sound silly, but I'm proud of myself for successfully making friends!

  1. I'm glad you are making new friends!

It's so funny, I'm sort of an introvert too. But I LOVE meeting new people, the more you meet the more you see how each individual is so vastly unique. It's so fascinating!

  2. I think we are quite similar people in a lot of ways. That's SO amazing that you're having the time of your life. That's how studying abroad should be!
